Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas

The Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas ( AMACC ) is the Mexican Academy of Film Art and Cinematography. It was officially founded by already prior existence on July 3, 1946 in Mexico City.

The tasks of the AMACC include support for work and research in the field of film art and - sciences. In this framework, the institution gives the Premio Ariel also annually. Due to lack of film production in the years 1959 to 1971, was accounted for in this period the award.
