Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo

The Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo (Albanian Akademia e Shkencave dhe ArtEve e Kosovës, short ASHAK; Latin Academia Scientiarum et Artium Kosoviensis ) is an Academy of Sciences and an art college in the Kosovo capital Pristina. It was founded on 20 December 1975 and has ever a faculty of language and literature, social sciences, natural sciences and the arts.

Director of the Academy since 2011 Hivzi Islami (* 1946), who is a trained demographer and geographer. In the nineties he led a political party and was represented in Parliament.

The Academy is a member of the General Federation of All European Academies.
