Acantholysis

The acantholysis describes the resolution of the cell assembly of keratinocytes ( keratinizing cells in the prickle cell layer of the epidermis ) " akantholytischer " with gap or bubble formation and extraction of single keratinocytes.

It occurs in pemphigus vulgaris, in Darier's disease in transient akantholytischer dermatosis ( Grover 's disease ), benign familial pemphigus chronicus ( Hailey - Hailey ) and the M. Galli- Galli ( which by some authors as an acantholytic variant of the M is considered. Dowling - Degos ). They also can be caused by cell death in viral ( eg herpes simplex) or bacterial infections (eg, impetigo ), when Lyell and staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome and the Stevens- Johnson syndrome, as well as in malignant transformation (z. example, when squamous carcinoma).
