The Accenture Plc, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland is the world's largest management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, with approximately 280,000 employees.

The company generated in fiscal year 2013 ( to August 31, 2013) net sales of 28.6 billion U.S. dollars (2012: 27.9 2011: 25.51; 2010: 21,55; 2009: 21.58; 2008: 23.39; 2007: 19,70; 2006: 16,65; 2005: 15.55 billion U.S. dollars). 2012 accounted for 56 percent of them in consulting and 44 percent on outsourcing. 45 percent of the sales originated in North and South America, 14 percent in Asia -Pacific and 41 percent in EMEA.

History

Accenture has emerged on 1 January 2001 by the name change of the company founded in 1989, Andersen Consulting. The company was originally a sister company of the auditor Arthur Andersen, who was involved in the Enron bankruptcy. The name change came after the company had in 2000 as part of the complete detachment lost the rights to the name Andersen. The new name Accenture is a portmanteau of Accent on the future.

After conversion to a public limited company Accenture is listed since 19 July 2001 on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) under the symbol " ACN ". To the Board of Directors include, among others Wulf of mold, the former CEO of Postbank. Since 1 September 2009, the Group operates as a stock corporation under the laws of Ireland and moved at the same time its headquarters from Bermuda to Dublin.

Until 13 December 2009, the American professional golfer Tiger Woods was the most important advertising medium for the company, then finished Accenture sponsors Treaty.

In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, 5,000 employees work for Accenture. The headquarters for ASG (Austria -Switzerland- Germany) is located since 2002 in the "Campus Kronberg " in Kronberg im Taunus, near Frankfurt am Main ( Lage50.175468.52764 ). Additional offices are located in the cities of Basel, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Erlangen, Geneva, Hamburg, Hannover, Heidelberg, yard, Kaiserslautern, Munich, Stuttgart, Vienna, Zurich and Wolfsburg
