Accolade (game company)

Accolade was a manufacturer of computer games. The company was founded in 1984 by Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead, who had previously left Activision.

History

According to legend, the name was chosen because it is alphabetically before Activision, the name of a competing manufacturer was. Particularly in the 1980s computer games were produced for the main home computer, including for Commodore 64, Atari 400 and 800, Amiga, Apple II and the PC.

1992 Accolade was involved in a legal dispute (which it lost ) because it had SNES and Sega Mega Drive Games reconstructed. In 1999, the company Infogrames (now Atari ) sold.
