ACE High

ACE High system (Allied Command Europe High) was a Tropospheric scatter communication system of NATO during the Cold War.

Function

Starting point of the global surveillance and long-range communication system is installed in the U.S. WACS White Alice Communications System. This system was installed in 1956 and runs from the U.S. leader across Canada and Alaska, connecting there with the DEW Line Distant Early Warning Line. This compound resulted as the NARS, North Atlantic Radio System, on to Greenland.

This is consistent with the long-range installed in Europe - communication - system, the ACE High System - "Allied Command Europe Tropospheric Forward Scatter Communication System " verbunden.Dieses thus globally operating communication and monitoring system introduced in the north of Europe, from the Faroe Island (Station 43 - Sandfelli - transfer point of the NARS line ) starting with the so-called normal route (backbone - route ), and runs north through Denmark and Norway to the Russian border, and south through England, Belgium and France, Germany to Italien.Weiterführend over Greece to Turkey, where the ACE high system also ended at the border of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.
