The Acer Aspire One is a netbook series from Acer, originally based on the Atom platform from Intel.

The Aspire One was offered in 2008 with Linpus Linux and 8 GB solid - state drive and Windows XP Home Edition and 120 GB hard drive. The expansion of the main memory was, depending on version 512 MB ​​to 4 GB. The screen had a screen size of 8.9 inches with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. All models are equipped with 10/100 Mbit Ethernet, 802.11b / g wireless LAN and 3 USB 2.0 ports. In addition, there is extra equipment with Bluetooth and / or UMTS.

The Aspire One is manufactured by Quanta Computer. The Linux version includes, among others, OpenOffice.org, while being loaded onto the Windows version of Microsoft Works. The 3- cell battery can last about 2.5 to 3 hours, the optional 6 -cell battery is about 5.5 to 7 hours. The webcam dissolves 0.3 megapixels.

The Aspire One was in the fall of 2008, the netbook with the largest market share ( 38.3%), from the direct competitor of Asus and Hewlett -Packard.

Meanwhile, Acer also sells some larger models with 10.1 or 11.6- inch display under the name Aspire One. These versions are, however, of size and equipment still clearly attributable to netbooks.
