Acergy

Acergy is a British company with corporate headquarters in Sunbury-on -Thames. Originally a Norwegian company, the company Acergy is listed in the financial index on the Oslo Stock Exchange OBX and the NASDAQ. The company was registered in Luxembourg as AG.

History

The company was founded in 1970 under the name Stolt Nielsen Seaway as part of the Stolt -Nielsen Group in Haugesund ( Norway) and offered in the early 1970s submersibles and divers for the exploration of the North Sea. In 1989 the company expanded to Aberdeen ( United Kingdom) and 1992, the company acquired Comex Services, a French immersion and construction companies. In the 90s, the company continued to expand and currently has offices in Stavanger ( Norway), Aberdeen (United Kingdom), Suresnes Cedex, (France), Houston (United States ), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Singapore.

In 1997 the company won its first major deepwater contract on the coast of West Africa, which was followed by the acquisition of Ceanic Corporation (Houston, USA) and the French pipeline technology specialists ETPM. In addition, they took 49% of the Danish company NKT Flexibles.

In 2000, the company name (company) to Stolt Offshore, but the rapid expansion and poor project management brought greater losses. 2003 began a new management team with a reorganization. 2005 the parent company sold the company, which then went public. On 1 March 2006 the company moved to Acergy.

Field of activity

Acergy is a global contractor for engineering and construction in the oil and gas sector on oil rigs. The company has divided its activities into four operational areas:

  • Subsea Umbilical Risers and Flow Lines ( SURF )
  • Inspection and Maintenance and Repair ( IMR)
  • Conventional Field Development
  • Trunk Lines

All four areas are supported by a company's own fleet of ships.
