Acerinox, SA is a Spanish company which specializes in the production of stainless steels and stainless steel. The annual capacity is 2.7 million tons. Acerinox heard by its own account, in terms of production, the three largest flat steel producer in the world.

Acerinox is known due to the development of its proprietary manufacturing techniques in the industry. The company has three production sites in Spain, South Africa and the U.S. flat steel. At two other sites in Spain and the USA cable wire and wire for the manufacture of electrodes is made. In addition, commercial establishments are operated by customers in over 80 countries to serve the world.

The turnover in 2007 amounted to 6.901 billion euros and the company employed 7,450 employees. The company was founded in 1952 and is based in Madrid, Spain.

1998 A sensational incident occurred in one of the works in Los Barrios. There, in the processing of scrap radioactive 137Cs was entering the manufacturing process. This resulted in a release of radioactivity into the environment and made an elaborate and expensive decontamination of the plant necessary.
