Achagua people

The Achagua are an indigenous American people.

The Achagua live in the municipality of Meta in Colombia. Their language, which belongs to the family of Arawak languages ​​, is still spoken by about 400 people. Of these, the most dominate in addition to Achagua not only the Spanish language, but also the Achagua similar indigenous language Piapoco.
