Achille Casanova

Achille Casanova ( born October 2, 1941 in Zurich ) is a Swiss former journalist and federal officials.

Life

Achille Casanova was originally a journalist and studied law and economics at the Universities of Bern and Freiburg and finished with a degree. To finance his studies he worked at the Swiss Telegraphic Agency and the Italian-speaking radio and television.

1981 Achille Casanova was elected Vice- Chancellor with responsibility for information, the voice services and the service staff of the Federal Council. In August 2000, the appointment was followed by the Federal Council spokesman. From this office he resigned in late July 2005. Oswald Sigg became his successor.

Since 1 August 2005 he is the ombudsman SRG and handled complaints of the programs of Swiss Radio and Television ( SRF).

Achille Casanova is married with two children and lives in Bern. He is a member of the Christian Democratic People's Party ( CVP).
