Achille Compagnoni

Achille Compagnoni ( born September 26, 1914 in St. Anthony Valfurva, Province of Sondrio, Italy, † 13 May, 2009 Aosta ) was an Italian mountaineer.

Together with Lino Lacedelli he ascended on 31 July 1954 as the first K2. The expedition was led by Ardito Desio. Compagnoni lived until his death in Cervinia. He died in the night May 13, 2009 94 -year-old in a hospital in Aosta.
