Achille Costa

Achille Costa ( born August 10, 1823 in Lecce, † November 17, 1898 in Rome ) was an Italian entomologist.

He was the son of zoologists Oronzio Gabriele Costa ( 1787-1867 ). From 1848 to 1849 he was his father's assistant at the Department of Zoology at the University of Naples. On February 26, 1852, he graduated in medicine at that university. On October 29, 1860, he was appointed there to the University Professor of Zoology. He thus succeeded his father as Lerhrstuhlinhaber.

From 1850 a number of published papers on the Costa fauna in the region of Naples.
