Achinoam Nini

Ahinoam Nini (Hebrew אחינועם ניני; born June 23, 1969 in Tel-Aviv) is an Israeli singer and songwriter. Outside Israel, it is also under her nickname Noa (Hebrew: נועה ) known.

Life

Born to Yemeni Jews in Israel, she lived between her second and 17 years in the Bronx, New York. She returned to Israel there abzuleisten compulsory for women two years of military service. Then she began to study at the Rimon School, a music academy for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Ramat haScharon, where she met guitarist Gil Dor, their long jähren musical partners. All previous albums she has produced in collaboration with Gil Dor or composed.

The music styles of that success duos include Pop, Rock, Blues, R & B, country, country western, folk, Yemenite & Italian folk. Noa has recorded a large number of songs, including some in Italian, French, Spanish, English, Arabic, Hebrew, in Thai, Hindi, in the Jewish-Yemeni dialect, also Jewish and Christian prayers, if necessary, translated into Hebrew or English.

She had joint performances or recordings with (among others) Sting, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crow, George Benson, Johnny Clegg, Zucchero, Peter Maffay, Pino Daniele, Rita Marcotulli, Rita Kleinstein Massimo Ranieri, Carlo Fava, Florent Pagny, Jean -Jacques Goldman, Khaled, amines, Lokua Kanza, Jorge Drexler, Joan Manuel Serrat, Meir Banai, Miguel Bosé, Donovan, Maurane, Éric Serra, Pascal Obispo, Patrick Bruel, Mike Mainieri, Chava Alberstein, Gil Dor, Gil Ofarim Nini band, Solis string Quartet, Al Di Meola or Bustan Abraham.

Ahinoam Nini sits down again and again for peace in the Middle East. So she stood with Yitzhak Rabin just before his assassination by an Israeli extremists on stage a peace rally in Tel Aviv (4 November 1995).

It is with Asher Barak, a pediatrician, married and has three children, Ayehli, Enea and Yum.

Noa in 2009 represented her home country of Israel to the Euro Vision Song Contest in Moscow. She performed a duet on the Palestinian Christian Mira Awad and interpreted the song There Must Be Another Way on peace process in Israel. In the ESC final Noa and Mira Awad achieved the 16th Place.
