Achtelsbach

Achtelsbach is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Birkenfeld and lies about 6 km west of the county town of the same name. Idar-Oberstein, located 22 km north-east, St. Wendel, 25 km south of Achtelsbach.

Geography

The town lies on Traun river, at the foot of the Black Forest High Forest. South and north of the town are forested mountains of 525 meters and 500 meters above sea level.
