ACI – The Financial Markets Association

ACI - The Financial Markets Association is a global financial market unification and also professional association for participants in the foreign exchange and money market. The ACI belong to more than 18,000 members from 81 countries, where it is their own national association in 66. The ACI 's governing body was founded in 1955 as the " International Association Cambiste " and has its headquarters in Paris.

Among the main activities of the association include the self-regulation by a binding code of conduct, participation in international bodies, training of members and technical committees on various subjects.

With the introduction of the euro in 1999 ACI Euribor introduced as an alternative to LIBOR, which has since enforced in the financial markets as euro reference rate. Also, the EONIA is calculated as the volume-weighted euro - interbank interest rate since then. The daily EONIA calculation has delegated the European Central Bank of the ACI. For the regulation of the Swiss counterpart of the EONIA, the TOIS, is also the ACI responsible, here too the daily calculation was further delegated.
