ACM Computing Classification System

The ACM Computing Classification System is developed and maintained by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM ) Subject classification for computer science. It is what both objectives, as well as basic structure and scope of the classification is concerned, roughly comparable to the Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC ), the counterpart of mathematics. The system is primarily divided into a three -level hierarchy, with each category by a capital letter (AK) and a subsequent numbering is identified. There is another, finals -free level, which lists corresponding to each category assigned subject areas. The first version of the classification was published in 1964, followed by revisions in the years 1982, 1983, 1987, 1991, 1998 and 2012.

Currently, there is no current German translation of the classification. Since all categories of classification can be identified by a unique key, a translation for a classification of articles for the category is not absolutely necessary.
