ActewAGL

ActewAGL is a private enterprise in Australia. It is a joint venture as part of a public-private partnership, which is divided equally owned by the Australian Gas Light Company and the State holding company ACTEW Corporation.

The company, founded in October 2000 with headquarters in the capital Canberra sold in the Australian Capital Territory and the region around Shoalhaven and Queanbeyan utility services such as water, gas and electricity. ActewAGL owns the electricity and gas infrastructure as well as the operator of the water supply and sanitation, which belong entirely to the ACTEW Corporation.

With 1092 employees in 2004 a turnover of 534 million AUD was achieved.

At ActewAGL owns several subsidiaries, including:

• Ecowise Environmental: Australia's largest provider of analysis, monitoring and consultancy services in the field of environmental protection
• Cantec: Telecommunications Consulting
• TRANSACT: operator of the local fiber optic cable network and provider of fixed -line and mobile telephony, pay-TV and broadband Internet
• Grapevine: Internet Service Provider
