Activia

Activia is a brand for " probiotic " milk products of the French group Danone.

Properties

Activia is marketed as a health product ( functional food ), which is intended to stimulate digestion. Activia products contain Bifidobacterium animalis bacteria of the strain DN 173 010 Danone claims that the bacteria should eliminate indigestion and irregularities in digestion. An actual functionality of this product is not regarded as proven.

Danone moved in 2010 to the European Agency for Food Safety ( EFSA) his requests for returns with which the alleged health benefits of Activia should be confirmed. Similarly, the group renounced in France and the UK on to extol the supposedly digestive properties in commercials.

Variants

Activia products are sold in more than 30 countries. The product range varies by country.
