Acura RL

The Acura RL is a model of the upper middle class of belonging to Honda Acura brand. RL stands for Road Luxury.

First generation

The Acura 3.5 RL was introduced in 1996 as a successor to the Acura Legend. The model has as its predecessors on all markets where Acura is not present with the Honda Legend, sold. The model designation Acura 3.5 RL followed a marketing strategy for strengthening of Acura as a separate brand. The other Acura models were renamed to 2.5 TL and 3.2 CL analogously.

The RL was powered by a longitudinally mounted 3.5 L V6 engine with 210 hp at first. The model was revised in his later construction nearly a year. In 1999 there were new xenon headlights and taillights modified optically and side airbags. 2000 was a navigation system added in 2002 the engine power was increased to 168 kW (225 hp), from 2003 found indicators with clear glass use.

Second generation

Acura RL (2005-2009)

2005 model replacement was urgently needed, as the current model was for sale after eight years of construction only with high discounts. The most significant change was a completely new engine, which was now powered by 220 kW with continued displacement of 3.5 liters. Contrary to all the rumors so far found no V8 engine use. The vehicle is equipped with a known as all-wheel drive AWD - SH, wherein the force can be transferred both to the front side as the rear axle as the wheels. Another special was next to a keyless entry before this technique was also used in mass production.

2009, the car was optically substantially reworked, with well grown dimensions (refer to the information in the overview ). The front end was equipped similarly to the same time as new Acura TL with an eye-catching chrome bar at the top of the grille. The engine has now the same power over a slightly larger displacement of 3.7 liters.
