Ad-Darazi

Al - Darazi (Arabic الدرازي / al - Darazi; persian درازي; died about 1019) from Bukhara was a ismailitscher ʿ ī dA ( missionary ) Turkish or Persian origin. 1017 or 1018 he came with his teacher Hamza ibn ʿ Alī from Persia to Cairo in Egypt. Darazi was the first who publicly declared the divinity of the caliph al -Hakim (al- Hakim bi- Amrih Allah, 985-1021 ), the sixth Fatimid caliph. He he is considered a founder of the religion of the Druze. according to him the followers of the movement as Darzīya or DURUZ ( Darzīs ) were known, where their name comes Druze. In the literature, the Druze, he is mentioned as an apostate and heretic ( mulḥid ).
