AD Sanjoanense

The Associação Desportiva Sanjoanense (Portuguese for Sport Association of São João ), AD Sanjoanense short, is a sports club from the Portuguese district of the city of São João da Madeira.

History

The club was founded in 1924. He got 1946 the first time in the Primeira Divisão. A year later, the team got off again. In 1966 for the second time, the rise in the Primeira Divisão. This time held the club for three years in the top division. In the 1967/68 season he reached the second round of the Taça de Portugal.

The club plays its home games at Estádio Conde Dias Garcia, which has over 8500 spectators. The sneaker brand Sanjo is named after the club.
