Ada Kok

Aagje "Ada" Kok ( born June 6, 1947 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch swimmer.

The start of her international career was winning the European Champion title on the 100 m butterfly at the European Championships in 1962 in Leipzig. She also won the title with the Dutch 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. At this time she was just 15 years old. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, they could each win the silver medal on these routes. At the European Championships in 1966 in Utrecht, they could in turn win the title over the 100 m butterfly and with the relay. The highlight of her career was the Olympic champion over 200 m butterfly, as she could the GDR swimmer Helga Lindner defeat short of the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. Thus she became the first Olympic champion on this route.

In 1976, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
