Life

After high school, he first trained as a carpenter before he began the study of Catholic theology, philosophy and German. Relatively late in his vocal talent was recognized, after which he studied voice with Prof. Henriette Klink Schneider began in 1966 at the Bavarian State Conservatory ( since 1973 University of Music Würzburg) in Würzburg.

In 1968 he was awarded the International Music Competition in Geneva. In 1970 he made his first engagement at the Lower Saxony State Theatre in Hanover, where he was henceforth engaged as a lyric tenor.

In 1974, he decided due to the increasing number of commitments at home and abroad, especially in Japan, America and other European countries to continue as a freelance opera and concert singer his career. Opera guest appearances have taken him to Vienna, Zurich, Hamburg, Cologne, Saarbrücken and Dusseldorf, especially as a Mozart tenor. In addition, he increasingly used the concert field, especially the sacred music of Bach, Schütz and Bruckner and gave recitals. He worked at this time along with many renowned conductors, among others were Sir Georg Solti, Wolfgang Gönnenwein, Helmuth Rilling, Eugen Jochum, Karl Richter, Karl Böhm, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Rafael Kubelik, John Eliot Gardiner, Pierre Boulez and Hanns -Martin Schneidt. Adalbert Kraus played numerous radio and TV recordings one, with Helmuth Rilling, the entire cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, which represented the main focus of his repertoire.

Adalbert Kraus was a full professor at the Munich Academy of Music and Honorary Professor at the Musikhochschule Würzburg. He was also a guest lecturer at the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart and at the College of Music in Tokyo.

His holistic approach and his extensive theological and musical- philosophical, always at the same time practical and craftsmanship, but most of all deeply human life manifests itself sustainably in his books: " The luminous trail - orientation in the 21st century. The classification of existence in five dimensions " and " One God - One World Religion ".
