Adam Casey

Adam Michael Casey ( born May 1, 1986 in Sydney ) is an Australian football player.

Club career

Casey grew up in Canberra, where he was taken to the ACT Academy of Sport, before he was formed in 2003 in the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS ). After completing his training at the AIS Casey the O'Connor Knights joined, who played in the ACT Premier League. The season 2004/ 05 he graduated at the Belconnen Blue Devils in the New South Wales Premier League. After Belconnen was suspended from league play, he played a short time at the Wollongong Wolves, before accepting an offer from the A- League clubs New Zealand Knights.

After eight league appearances for the New Zealand Knights Casey joined the end of January 2007 Premier League rivals Sydney FC and signed a two-year contract.

National

During his time at the AIS Casey established himself as a regular in the Australian U- 17 team, with which he was qualified for the U- 17 World Cup 2003 in Finland. In the final tournament Casey played in all three group games as a striker for the full distance, stayed with the three losses but without scoring.

2007 Casey graduated in qualifying for the 2008 Olympic Games a game for the Olympic team, but was not considered for the final tournament.
