Adam Courchaine (ice hockey, born 1984)

Adam Courchaine (born 23 MAY 1984 Winnipeg, Manitoba ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently with the Krefeld Penguins of the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Courchaine began his career in 2001 Hockey in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League with the Medicine Hat Tigers. In the 2001 / 02 season, the 1.79 m wide center moved within the league to the Vancouver Giants. After he stated in his second season in Vancouver his talent, even the NHL scouts were aware of him. Finally, during the NHL Entry Draft in 2003, it was the Minnesota Wild, who could opt for Courchaine. He was selected in the seventh round in a total of 219 point.

For 2005/ 06 the attacker joined the farm team of the Minnesota Wild, the Houston Aeros in the American Hockey League on. There, however, the links Sagittarius stayed only one season and played beyond the meantime for the Pensacola Ice Pilots and for the Gwinnett Gladiators in the ECHL. In the end, he completed only ten games in the AHL.

Then moved Courchaine in summer 2006 to Austria, where he played from then on for the EK Zell am See in the second highest Austrian league. After a good season in which he was able to record 105 points scorer for itself in 41 games, the foxes Duisburg took him under contract. In his first season he achieved a breakthrough in the German Ice Hockey League and he was one of the best scorers in the team of foxes. Then the Canadians was taken in the summer break in 2008 from Premier League rivals DEG Metro Stars under contract for Adam Courchaine went on the ice until the season 2011 /12. Following the withdrawal of the main sponsor Metro AG Courchaines contract was not renewed in late August 2012, he signed a contract with the Graz 99ers, which was canceled after four league games. On October 10 it was announced that Courchaine returns to the foxes Duisburg, which is now played in the third-tier league. However, the contract contained an out clause in the event of an offer from the DEL, which allowed a change to the Krefeld Penguins after the Germany Cup break, 2012.
