Adam Dennis

Adam Dennis ( born February 8, 1985 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender Italo- who is under contract with EC Dornbirn in the Austrian Hockey League since 2013.

Career

Club

Adam Dennis began his career as a hockey player with the Oakville Blades, for which he was active in the 2001/02 season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. From 2002 to 2006 the goalkeeper stood in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League for the Guelph Storm and London Knights between the posts. After 2004 the J. Ross Robertson Cup, the OHL Championship won with Guelph, he changed the course of the following season on the London Knights with whom he repeated this success in the 2004/05 season. In addition, Dennis won with his team then the championship of the Canadian Hockey League, the Memorial Cup. Together with his colleagues, he was given the goalkeeper Dave Pinkney Trophy for lowest team Gegentorschnitt the OHL. He was voted the best goalkeeper of the Memorial Cup tournament, and in the 2005/06 season for OHL Goaltender of the Year.

From 2006 to 2009 Dennis played for the Rochester Americans and Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League. For the season 2009/10 he went first to Europe, where he received a contract with SHC Fassa in the Italian Serie A1. For the Italians, he confirmed his individual class. In its 37 main rounds inserts he pointed to the lowest Gegentorschnitt the entire league with a 2.23 goals against per game. In the playoffs, he was able to reduce this value to 2.20 goals per game. His catch rate was 93.5 % in the main round and 94.0 % in the playoffs also outstanding. With his good services he recommended for a contract with the Cologne Sharks of the German Ice Hockey League, of which Dennis was committed for the 2010/11 season.

After an unsuccessful start of the season with the sharks, undertook the calf Dubielewicz as new goalkeeper, Dennis left the Sharks in October 2010 and has been committed by the HC Alleghe. He played almost three years in Italy, he moved in the summer of 2013 to the EC Dornbirn in the Austrian Hockey League.

National

His debut for the Italian national team was Dennis in February 2013 in Bietigheim -Bissingen at the Olympic qualification for the Games in Sochi 2014. Though the Italians did not qualify due to a 2:3 defeat against Austria for the Winter Games, he was also for the World Cup nominated. There, with the Italians he succeeded not only promotion to the top division, he also became the best goalkeeper and into the All -Star team in Group A of Division I dialed.
