Career

Henrique spent four years and highly successful junior time between 2006 and 2010 at the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League. They had selected him in the OHL Priority Selection 2006 in the second round to 24th place. In his first season, in which the Spitfires missed the play-offs, the striker reached 44 points scorer. This value is confirmed in the following season, and after it had been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the third round at 82nd position by the New Jersey Devils. In his third junior season, the attacker increased significantly in its yield point and won at the end of the season both the J. Ross Robertson Cup and the Memorial Cup. In the Memorial Cup tournament Henrique was behind Jamie Benn 's second best scorer of the competition. The last junior season denied the Center as an assistant captain and was awarded in November 2009, his first professional contract with the New Jersey Devils. At the end of the season the Spitfires to defend the two titles won last year. Henrique scored in the course of OHL play-offs 20 goals - at the same time most of all the players - and was awarded the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as the most valuable player of the playoffs.

After the end of the season Henrique joined the professional field and was by the management of New Jersey in September 2010 for the farm team, the Albany Devils, sent to the American Hockey League. There, the striker spent the 2010/ 11 and scored in 73 games of the season 50 points scorer. On April 11, 2011 - shortly before the end of the season - was the center forward his NHL debut. It remained his only NHL appearance of the season. The following season began Henrique, also in New Jersey. Only towards the end of October, he spent a week in Albany. But by injury to Travis Zajac he quickly returned to New Jersey and was awarded the vacant seat in the front row next to Ilya Kovalchuk storm and Zach Parise. The prominent storm colleagues helped Henrique through its support for the appointment of NHL rookies of the month December 2011 and nomination in the Super Skills Competition of the rookies in the NHL All-Star Game 2012 in the Canadian capital Ottawa.

Internationally

Henrique represented his native Canada at the U20 World Youth Championship 2010 in the Canadian cities of Saskatoon and Regina. After almost 5:6 defeat in overtime against the United States, the Canadians won the silver medal. In six tournament games Henrique scored a goal in the group stage at 16:0 victory over Latvia and received two penalty minutes.
