Adam Jones (musician)

Adam Jones ( born January 15, 1965 in Libertyville, Illinois) is an American guitarist for the progressive metal band Tool. He is also a visual page for tools (videos, music illustrations ) responsible.

At first he played the violin, then electric bass. During his school years he played with Tom Morello, the guitarist should be of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave later, in a band called " Electric Sheep ".

After leaving school he studied FX technology and later rose for three years in the team of film effects guru Stan Winston one. Here he worked on several films, including Ghostbusters II, Predator 2, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2 and Nightmare on Elm Street 5

He then founded the progressive metal band Tool Maynard James Keenan with his neighbor, bassist Paul D' Amour and drummer Danny Carey. After the music video for Sober, in which only the nail box came from him, he took over the video making completely and turned from there to the Tool videos that differ in stop-motion technique, drab colors and grotesque figures of ordinary music videos.

Adam Jones also helped as a touring guitarist from underground legends Melvins.

Equipment

Adam Jones plays for several tool Les Paul Custom Silver Burst and uses Diezel VH -4 and Marshall and Mesa / Boogie amplifiers. Usually he only uses the bridge pickup and the added volume potentiometer turned on the neck, whereby the pickup selector switch to the kill-switch is. A striking example is the use of the Epilady, with whom he produced many tool - typical sounds ( eg " Third Eye " 1:20). Adam Jones was married to Camella Grace. Currently, he is in a relationship with the artist Korin Faught.
