Adam Przeworski

Adam Przeworski ( born May 5, 1940 in Warsaw ) is an American political scientist of Polish origin.

At the University of Warsaw, he obtained a master's degree, he received his Ph.D. at Northwestern University in political science. Professorships has / he held at universities in New York and Chicago. Teaching and research have taken him to universities and research institutes in Chile, France, Germany, India, Poland, Spain and Switzerland. Since 1986 he is member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he was awarded the Wilson Prize, and in 1998 with the Luebbert Prize 2001.

Przeworski, which was also attributed to the analytical or " rational choice " Marxism stands for Promotion the dual transformation of Eastern Europe ( towards a market economy and democracy ), the analysis of economic and political reform and development strategies in general and unreflective criticism implementation of standard recipes of market-based reform and development policies.
