Adam Putnam

Adam H. Putnam ( born July 31, 1974 in Bartow, Florida) is an American politician. Between 2001 and 2011 he represented the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Adam Putnam attended Bartow High School and then studied until 1995 at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He then worked as a farmer and rancher. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1996 and 2001 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Florida.

In the congressional elections of 2000, Putnam was in the twelfth electoral district of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Charles T. Canady on January 3, 2001. After four elections he could exercise his mandate until January 3, 2011. Putnam was a member of the Finance Committee and in two of its subcommittees. When he took office in January 2001, he was the youngest congressman. In his time as a congressman of the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 and the war in Iraq and the military mission in Afghanistan fell. From 2006 to 2007 he headed the House Republican Policy Committee; after which he served as chairman of the House Republican Conference.

In 2010, Adam Putnam was elected as the successor of Charles H. Bronson Minister of Agriculture ( Commissioner of Agriculture) of Florida. A position he took over immediately after his resignation from the Congress.
