Adam van Noort

Adam van Noort (* 1562 in Antwerp, † 1641 ) was a Flemish painter.

Life

Noort lived in his native town, and there painted mainly portraits and historical scenes. From his work, only a small part has been preserved. Noort is mainly as a teacher known for his pupils were Hendrik van Balen the Elder, Peter Paul Rubens, Sebastian Vrancx and son Jacob Jordaens, who was married to Elisabeth van Noorts daughter.
