Adam Wicheard

Adam Wicheard ( born August 23, 1985 in Bath) is an English snooker player.

Career

Wicheard represented England at the age of 20 years at the U21 European Championship in 2006. Spinal tumor then threw him back, however, so he could run one and a half years, no snooker on competitive sports level. After his recovery, he managed to qualify on the first place in the English amateur rankings in the season 2009/ 10 for the Snooker Main Tour 2010/11.

His accomplishments on the professional tour were quite weak in the first year. He lost many of his opening matches and remained so in the Snooker world rankings always in the back regions. At the end of the season he was number 88, which was not enough to remain on the professional tour. Right in the first tournament of the newly introduced Q School but he was able to earn a ticket for an immediate return to the professional tour.

Even his second year as a pro was initially very successful. However, towards the end of the season, he managed to qualify for the Welsh Open 2012, he survived by all four qualifying rounds and was thus the first time in the final round of a full ranking tournament. There he defeated Stephen Maguire 2:4.
