Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani

Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani (* 1976 in Enugu, Nigeria ) is a Nigerian writer. Her novel I Do Not Come to You by Chance was awarded the best African debut novel of the Commonwealth Writers' Prize.

Life

Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani was born in Enugu in the same state as the daughter of Chukwuma Hope Naubani and Patricia Uberife Nwaubani, but moved a year later with her ​​parents in Umuahia, Abia State, where she spent her early childhood. From the age of 10 years she attended Federal Government Girls College Owerri, Imo State. She then studied psychology at the University of Ibadan.

She is editor of the Nigerian newspaper Next and lives in Lagos.
