ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship
The ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club ) Submission Wrestling World Championship was with the support of Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan ( President ADCC ) and Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, son of the former President of the United Arab Emirates Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was founded. Since 1998, the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship organized by the, by 2001 they found annually in Abu Dhabi. Then, the event changed to a two -year cycle and the venue was to Brazil (2003 ), United States (2005 & 2007), Portugal ( 2009) laid.
Rules and Regulations
The championship will be played in KO system, only the winner gets into the next round on.
Gi, Kimono and wrestling shoes are optional. The battle area is 9 x 9 meters and is covered with mats. There is no kind of limitation, as cage or ropes, the fight area. If the fighters leave the battle zone, the fight is interrupted and continued in the same position as he was stopped in the middle.
Permitted techniques:
- All kinds of strangleholds (except for the flattening of the trachea with hands or fingers)
- All types of articulated levers (not finger or toe lever )
Illegal Techniques:
- Holding t-shirt or shorts
- "Full Nelson " and " Crucifix "
- Punches and kicks
- Reaching into your eyes or other body openings
- Gripping / pulling on the ears or hair
- Scratching bite or pinch
- Access to the groin
- Hands, knees or elbows in the face
- Moving substances on body or clothing parts
Number of points:
Mount position = 2 points
Back mount with hooks = 3 points
Get rid of the guard = 3 points
Knee to the stomach = 2 points
Clean Sweeps = 4 points
Sweeps = 4 points
Clean takedowns (not ending in the guard) = 4 points
Takedowns (Ends in the Guard or Half Guard ) = 2 points
- Each position must be held for three seconds to get the points for it.
- When changing to different positions only to be accounted for, which were kept for at least three seconds.
- Counter will be counted as a sweep.
Penalties:
- If a fighter goes voluntarily three seconds in the Guard or from a standing position to a non- standing position, he shall be punished by a minus point.
- When a fighter disengages from contact and constantly dodging, he shall be punished by a minus point.
- A passive fighter is cautioned twice before he is punished with a minus point. The referee will warn the passive fighter with the words: "WARNING passivity "
The winner will be determined by:
- Task of the opponent, verbally or by tapping.
- If the judge is of the opinion that a fighter can no longer defend or his health is endangered, the fight is stopped.
- If a fighter breaks the rules twice he will be disqualified by the referee.

- Up to 60 kg
- 60 kg and more
Fight time:
- Qualifying rounds = 10 minutes
- Final = 20 minutes
- 5 minutes extension at a draw
