Addy Engels

Addy Engels ( born June 16, 1977 in Zwartemeer ) is a Dutch racing cyclist.

Career

Before Engels 2000 at the Dutch cycling team Rabobank professional was, he picked up in his youth a total of four national championship titles.

Angel was in his first year at the Giro d' Italia at the start and finished him. In the following years he made it again. In 2002 he proved that he is a pretty good climber. He came in 24th in Milan. In the same year he was allowed to even start in the Tour de France and finished it on the 94th place overall. In the 2003 season, Angel scored his first and long -time single podium. He was third on a stage of the Vuelta a Murcia.

He got the end of 2004, no contract extension at Rabobank and moved to a smaller home team Bankgiroloterij. Again, he did not really take off and when the team disbanded at the end of the season was Engels shortly before his career end. At the Giro d' Italia 2006, he was only scarce five seconds behind Joan Horrach Second on the twelfth stages to Sestri Levante.
