Adel Massaad

Adel Massaad (* June 24, 1964 in Moers ) is a professional table tennis player and runs the Institute founded by him for health education ( IFGA ). The German - Egyptian doctor son is out of money on the Lower Rhine.

Table tennis

Massaad left the school in money without High School and was a table tennis professional. Originally designed for the lower pair Cross ( 6 teams) brought, he soon became the surprise of the Premier League and became the strong players in the middle pair cross. His trademark was the flip-flops after his victories. In 1985 he moved from club TuS Rheinberg to TTC Jülich, 1988 FTG Frankfurt. A year later he returned to Jülich, which he left in 1995 the post office, telecom SV Mülheim again. 1989 Massaad was the ranking tournament DTTB Top 12 Second, a year later, he came at the German Championship in single to third place.

After a stint in 1992/93 at TTC Helga Hanover, he won together with the TTC Jülich 1993 ETTU Cup, as a single player in 1990 in Casablanca, the African Cup of Nations. With the Egyptian team he took second place at the tournament. Four times he took part in the World Championships with Egypt. In 2007 he qualified for participation in the Summer Olympics of 2008.

From TTC Jülich, he joined the Post SV Mülheim Telekom (until 1996 ). After that he played in different clubs ( Helga Hanover ( 1996), TTC BW Mountain Town ( 1997), PSV Oberhausen (1998 ) Post SV Hagen ( 1999), SV Menzelen, TSV Krefeld- Bockum ) in lower divisions. For the 2006/07 season he returned to Jülich, where he is reported as the top players in men's team for the second national league, but also came to inserts in the Bundesliga. Since the season 2011/2012 Massaad plays for the Oberliga ASV unity Süchteln.

Criticism

Massaad said to have led campaigns against pharmaceutical critic for money. According to Der Spiegel on February 7, 2011 Massaad has attempted in 2006 with a business partner to discredit the independent auditor medications Peter Sawicki, then head of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care. For his work Massaad said to have received more than 1.2 million euros from pharmaceutical companies and PR agencies.

Private

Massaads father is Egyptian, his mother Algerian. Therefore, he is eligible to play for Egypt. He played for a long time by the way volleyball for the TV money, as a teenager, he was part of the squad of the German Volleyball Federation.
