Adela and Irmina

Adela of Pfalzel, also Adolana or Adula, (* 660, † 735 ) was a daughter of the Seneschal and Count Palatine Hugo Bert and Irmina of Oeren and belongs to the family of Hugobertiner. She was married to Odo, a vir illustrious.

Adela founded shortly after 700, the monastery Pfalzel in the designated as Palatiolum late Roman country house, which she had acquired from her brother Pippin the Middle and his first abbess she was. 721 visited Boniface Adela and her monastery. The Fulda Ragyndrudiskodex probably comes from Adela's sister Regentrud and thus came about Adela to Boniface and finally to Fulda.

In her will (732 or 733 ) endows the monastery Pfalzel of goods on the Meuse and the Moselle, from the Gillgau and Bidgau.

Adela and Odo had at least three children:

  • Alberich († 714/721 ), the father of Bishop Gregory of Utrecht ( † 774)
  • Gerelind ( † after 699 )
  • Haderich ( † after 699 )
