Adele Astaire

Adele Astaire ( born September 10, 1896 in Omaha, Nebraska as Adele Marie Austerlitz, † January 25, 1981 in Tucson, Arizona) was an American dancer and entertainer in the first half of the 20th century.

Life

Adele Marie Austerlitz was the daughter of Austrian immigrants Frederick "Fritz" Emanuel Austerlitz (1868-1924) and his German-born wife Johanna " Ann " Geilus ( 1878-1975 ). Together with her younger brother Frederick ( "Fred" ) ( 1899-1987 ) Adele Astaire visited early on a dance school in order to act in provincial theaters Nebraska.
