Adeline Gray
Adeline Mary Gray (born 15 January 1991) is an American wrestler. It was Junior World Champion and Junior World runner-up and won at the World Championships 2011 in Istanbul a bronze medal in the weight category up to 67 kg. In 2012 she became world champion in the non-Olympic weight category to 67 kg body weight.
Career
Adeline Gray comes from the State of Colorado. They attend different high schools and graduated from Bear Creek High School in Lakewood (Colorado). Now she is a student at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. It belongs to the New York Athletic Club, but trained at the training center of the U.S. Ringer Association in Colorado Springs. Your trainers are or were her father George Gray and Wladislaus Isboinikow. She is 1.73 meters tall and starts in the weight class up to 67 kg body weight.
Their first success as a wrestler, it achieved in 2007, when she was U.S. junior champion ( Cadets ). She repeated this success in 2008 and also was still U.S. Junior Champion. She took this year already with the U.S. World Cup excretion of the ladies part and finished there behind Elena Piroschkowa an excellent 2nd place. Previously, she was in July 2008 have become in Istanbul as 17 -year-old junior world champion ( age group to age 20 ). With Chiaki Iijima, Japan, Olga Kalinina, Kazakhstan and Nasanburmaa Ochirbat from Mongolia they had thereby defeating three very serious opponents.
2009 Adeline Gray was again U.S. Junior Champion and was the first time U.S. champion in the women. Then you also won the world championship elimination tournament in the weight class up to 67 kg before Christians Paysse and Lauren Knight. At the Junior World Championship 2009 in Ankara could not defend her title because she equal lost her first fight against the Swede Sandra Makela there. She dropped out of it and only came on the 9th Place. Better then cut off at the Women's World Cup in Herning / Denmark. She won there over Maria Müller, Germany, then lost against Yulia Barnowskaja from Russia, won over Ma Yan from China and lost the fight for a world championship bronze medal against Ifeoma Iheanacho from Nigeria. They thus claimed in its World Cup debut as a 18 -year-old a good 5th place.
In 2010, Adeline Gray injured early in the year and therefore could participate in this year neither the international nor at the national championships.
In 2011 it was U.S. junior champion again. This year, the American Wrestling Federation hosted two World Cup qualification tournaments ( Trials ). First one for the Olympic weight classes. Adeline Gray took part in it, but had to work off up to 63 kg in the weight class. She convinced there and defeated in the final battle, the former world champion Kristie Marano (married Davis). Subsequently, they also launched at the World Championship Trials in the weight class up to 67 kg, and won there in the finals on Stephany Lee, the former world champion in the weight class up to 72 kg.
In 2011 she started again at the Junior World Championships, which took place in Bucharest. She defeated among others there Maria Selmaier from Germany, Ewelina Nikolova from Bulgaria and Alenia Machinja Stadnik from Ukraine, before she lost in the final against Sara Dosho from Japan. In the Women's World Cup in Istanbul, they lost in their first fight against the future world champion, who until then completely unknown Shelok Dolma from the People's Republic of China. With victories over the three -time world champion Martine Dugrenier from Canada and Orskaya Burcu from Turkey but they fought still a World Cup bronze medal.
2012 attempted to qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in London Adeline Gray at the U.S. Olympic excretion ( Trials ). She won there over Andrea Carolina Gutierrez Olaya, Colombia, then lost to Zhang Fengliu, China, but won in the consolation round with victories over Güzal Manurowa, Kazakhstan and Yasemin Adar, Turkey, even a bronze medal.
In March 2014 Adeline Gray competed in the Team World Cup in Tokyo in the new weight class up to 75 kg. She was in Tokyo in fantastic shape and defeated one after burmaa Ochirbat, Mongolia, the multiple former world champion Kyoko Hamaguchi, Japan, Zsanett Nemeth, Hungary and the reigning World Champion Zhang Fengliu they outclassed with 10:1 points outright.
