Adelmann

Adelmann from Liege ( † about 1061 in Brescia), was Bishop of Brescia.

Life

He studied the liberal arts at Fulbert of Chartres (ca. 960-1028 ), teachers ( Quadrivium ) was in the " mathematical sciences " and since 1031 head of the Liege Cathedral School, where he Wazo, later bishop of Liege ( 1041-1048 ) succeeded. Adelmann himself became in 1057 Bishop of Brescia, where he died about four years later and was buried.

One of his students in Liege was the famous mathematician Franco of Liege (* 1015/20 - † about 1083 ).
