History

Adel village was first mentioned in the Bamberg Festkalendarien as a gift of the provost Egilbert in the year 1121 AD The name suggests that the settlement took place under the leadership of a Otloh ( 1121 Otlohesdorf, 1369 Otelsdorf, 1460 Adel Dorff ). Economy, agriculture and forestry

Stiftung Schloss Adeldorf

Retroactive to July 10, 2008, the date of approval of the castle Adeldorf Foundation were the benefits and burdens of the noble villages castle over to the Foundation. Recently with the approval of the notarial transfer agreement on September 17, the municipal council decided that Adelsdorf castle, the town had acquired from Baroness von Bibra in 1993 to contribute to a foundation. The Foundation will ensure long-term preservation of the castle. For this, the castle of the community assets has been transferred to the foundation's assets.
