Adem Bereket

Adem Bereket (born 19 July 1973) is a former Russian or Turkish wrestler. He won a bronze medal in the free style in the welterweight division at the 2000 Olympic Games.

Career

Adem Bereket was born when Adam Barachojew in Ingushetia in Russia. There he also began in 1986 with the rings. His coaches were there Alikhan Harsiew and Alandin Barachojew. As an adult, the 1.75 meter tall athlete started getting welterweight (then to 74 and 76 kg body weight). By mid-year 1999, he went there for Russia at the start. Adem Bereket studied sports. In Turkey, he started for the sports club Gebze Güres Ihtisasi Kulubü. After his international career, he went into the 2005/06 season for the German Bundesliga club SV Germania Weingarten at the start. From 2006 he is coach of the Turkish national team for the free style.

In 1996 he occupied at the Universities World Cup in Tehran behind Nuri Zengin from Turkey 2nd place. Middle of the year 1999, he began, nor for Russia, the " Yasar Dogu - " Memorial in Ankara and won this tournament before Halimoglu Aydin from Turkey. In the autumn of 1999 he went to the World Championships in Ankara for Turkey already at the start. After four victories, he lost there in the semi-final against Alexander Leipold of Germany, but defeated in the battle for 3rd place Joe E. Williams of the United States.

In 2000 he took part in the European Championships in Budapest. In the welterweight he fought it to the finals before, in which he lost to Buwaisar Saitijew from Russia. But he was so European vice-champion. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he wins get over Gurami Michelidse from Georgia, Arpad Ritter from Hungary and Ruslan Kinchagow from Uzbekistan. In the semifinals he was defeated by Brandon Slay from the United States and also in the battle for the bronze medal bout against Moon Eun- jae from South Korea. He got away with it on the 4th Place. He was subsequently awarded the bronze medal because the original Olympic Champion Alexander Leipold had to be disqualified because of doping.

In the next few years he came only in the 2003 European Championship in Riga welterweight used. He lost there against Volodymyr Sirotin from Ukraine and against Krystian Brzozowski of Poland, which he resigned and finished only 15th place.
