Adept

Adept (from the Latin adeptio, attainment, acquisition, or Latin adeptus, one who has attained something ) is the name given to a person or a student who is inducted into a secret doctrine, secret science or in mystery. In a broader sense an adept is one who has been inserted deeper by a master in an art or science, has studied the teachings and can identify themselves as connoisseurs of his philosophy and insights.

In alchemy, the term Adept was used for those people who had found the secret of making the Philosopher's Stone or theory should be familiar with the production of the stone, at least by long study of ancient writings.

In the mystery schools of antiquity, for example, in ancient Egypt ( Isis and Osiris, and others) and in ancient Greece ( Eleusinian mysteries ) were called adepts those who had passed the initiation and were thus initiated into sacred, secret knowledge.
