Adicta (Spanish for dependent) is an Argentine band from La Plata, whose musical style is located between synth pop, rock and electronic dance music. They even compare their style with the Britpop.

Career

The band was formed in 1999 by Rudie Martinez and Adrián Nievas, named Toto, former musicians from other formations established. 2000, they recorded their debut album, Shh, which became a huge commercial and artistic success - thus designated as the Argentine edition of Rolling Stone magazine it as the best album of the year. Also published in 2001 Single Poco a poco received good reviews.

In 2003, the follow-up album Miedo, containing the biggest hit Tu times among others. This song was released in an alternate version on an eponymous EP in 2004. In the same year changed the cast, the new members were Julián Fraus (guitar ), Mario Lopez (bass) and Sergio Sotomayor (drums).

2005 brought the band Día de la Fiebre, her latest album, out, their extraction Soy Animal could also develop into a hit. Currently (2007) she is working on material for a new album.

Style

In her music Adicta combine melancholic vocal lines with guitars, synth riffs and a standing almost exclusively in minor harmonies. The beats are a combination of traditional drumming and electronic samples from techno and drum and bass.

At live concerts, the band usually occurs in outfits that contain elements of kitsch, but also the homoerotic scene. Even so it is very popular especially among homosexuals.
