Adler-Planetarium
The Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum in Chicago, Illinois is one of the biggest attractions of the city. Built in 1930 thanks to the support of the entrepreneur Max Adler, it is one of the oldest planetariums in North America. It is located directly on Lake Michigan, just behind the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum of Natural History.
It shows on several levels numerous exhibits on space, planetary system and their historical and current research. The collection of historical instruments is world famous. In addition, it has two theaters for astronomical demonstrations, one with a Zeiss projector and one with a modern digital laser show, which allows particular flight simulations. Both systems complement each other perfectly.
