Admete

Admete (Greek Ἀδμήτη ) In Greek mythology, the daughter of Eurystheus and priestess of Hera.

In the Libraries of Apollodorus it sought belt of the Amazon queen Hippolyte, the latter had received for their bravery by Ares. Then Heracles is sent in fulfillment of one of his twelve labors to win the belt for them. In Tzetzes she accompanies him.

According to Athenaeus Admete fled with a cult statue of Hera from the city of Argos on the island of Samos. The Argives then hired to Tyrrhenian pirates to return the image. After the robbery, the ship of the pirates was so long motionless in the sea, to the pirates, the cult statue brought back to shore. The next day, the Samians found the statue and tied them to a tree, but Admete they untied again, cleaned it and put it back on in the temple. In memory of this event, the festival was celebrated Tonea ( Τόνεα ) on Samos.
