Adolf Endler

Adolf Endler ( born September 20, 1930 in Dusseldorf, † August 2, 2009 in Berlin) was a German writer.

Life

After an aborted bookseller Endler worked as transport workers and crane drivers. When he was accused of " sedition " because of its activity in the peace movement, moved Endler 1955 in the GDR. He studied from 1955 to 1957 at the Johannes R. Becher Institute for Literature in Leipzig. Since then he has worked as a freelance author. He was regarded as the representative of the influenced by Georg Maurer Saxon school of poetry.

From 1967 to 1978 he was married to the writer and translator Elke Erb.

After protests against the expatriation of Wolf Biermann in 1976 and the conviction of Stefan Heym's because of " currency violations " in 1979, he was expelled from the GDR Writers' Association.

He wrote in the 1980s for various Berlin underground magazines and became an essential figure in the literary scene in Prenzlauer Berg. His time incurred diary praised Matthias Biskupek ". He mixes the Offizial speech and the Hinterhofgekreisch and especially his outrageous single opinion about a funny mixture that is easily digestible and highly life-affirming " From 1991 to 1998 he managed with his wife, Brigitte Schreier - Endler, the readings " Orplid & Co" at Café Clara Berlin -Mitte. He was one of the initiators of the " Society for the maintenance and promotion of poetry Orplid eV ", which called this reading series to life. -

Adolf Endler was a member of the German Academy for Language and Literature in Darmstadt since 2005.

Posthumously published in 2010 under the title "This buzzing " a band with conversations that Renatus Deckert with Adolf Endler out about his life and writing.

From Adolf Endler's children Julius Endler is now considered the rapper Job known Konrad Endler is an author and active in Berlin and Potsdam reading stage scene.
