Adolf Schroedter possessed an uncommonly versatile talent. He has proven to be a painter, illustrator humorous seals, as an engraver, engraver, woodcut draftsman and lithographer, as a political satirist and writer, as a botanist, Blumist and creator of the most charming ornaments and arabesques. He is a little square and baroque in the drawing, but always witty, ingenious and of a inexhaustible inventiveness. He was one of the happiest representatives of healthy humor. His conception of Don Quixote has become typical. For Monogram S. had chosen the corkscrew, which he in an original leaf: , allegorical glorified the dream of the bottle.

He also excelled in frieze-like compositions, such as: Rheinische Bauer fair ( painted on gilded zinc plate, 22 m long, 65 cm high, 1847), The triumph of the king of wine ( 1852), Rhine wine, Maitrank, punch and champagne (1852 ), the four seasons (1854, exhibition of Karlsruhe), which he executed in watercolor, among other things, also he provided illustrations for " Peter Schlemihl " Musaeus ' " folk tales ," Uhland works etc. and Detmold ' life and deeds of deputies beep Meier " (1848 ). He wrote: " Drawing as an aesthetic education means " ( Frankf. 1853) and gave a "school of watercolor painting" ( Brem. 1871) out.
