Adolphe Yvon

Adolphe Yvon ( born January 30, (other than 1st or February 12th ) 1817 in Eschviller, Lorraine, † September 11, 1893 in Paris) was a French painter.

Life

He was born the son of Pierre Nicolas Yvon (1776-1848) and his coming from Worms- Neuhausen wife Anne Marie née Neumayer ( 1789-1869 ). The twin brother of the mother was Maximilian Joseph Georg Neumayer (1789-1866), French general of division and Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour.

Yvon was a pupil of the painter Paul Delaroche. He undertook in 1843 a study tour of the Tsarist Empire, the artistically reflected in many pictures. In 1855 he took over as the official painter of battle of the French government in part in the Crimean War. On August 8, 1857, his son Maurice Yvon was born in Paris.
